OPTECH 2025 is almost here! Read on for travel tips to help you make the most of your time at this top multifamily event in Las Vegas.
First: Your travel pep talk
Last week, the Federal Aviation Administration cut flights at 40 major airports due to staffing shortages from the government shutdown. Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) was one of them. With fewer staff on duty, expect longer lines, slower security and lots of waiting. Experts say to arrive two to three hours early for domestic flights, even if you have PreCheck.
Check your airline app for real-time updates, as gate changes and cancellations may occur more frequently than usual. If you’re road tripping this time around, mentally prepare yourself for traffic in the desert. (Though, what’s new with driving to Las Vegas?)
When you arrive in Las Vegas, expect the roads to look a little different. Formula 1 kicks off just days after OPTECH, so some streets may be closed or rerouted for race preparations. Plan extra travel time, and keep your rideshare apps handy.
While delays and race-car detours aren’t exactly on your Las Vegas wish list, having a positive mindset helps. Pack your favorite snacks, download your comfort show and of course, make a solid OPTECH event plan.
