Video: How Phoenix staff spends more time with residents

Phoenix Senior Living client success video

Phoenix Senior Living wanted staff to spend less time sitting behind closed doors doing data entry and more time connecting with people.

After implementing the Yardi Senior Living Suite and Procure to Pay features including VendorCafe, they improved several time-consuming processes. As a result, they now spend less time on invoicing and reconciliation, while enhancing visibility across their communities.

In this video interview, part of “The heart of innovation” series, Seth Pesek, president of Phoenix Senior Living, shares how Phoenix gave their associates time back in their day.

How Phoenix Senior Living saved 19 work weeks

By implementing integrated solutions including VendorCafe and automated financial processes, Phoenix reduced manual work and improved efficiency across its operations.

“When you look at all the hours that we’ve saved, there are actually 19 work weeks that we’ve eliminated from our ecosystem,” Pesek said.

Phoenix measures time saved in number of invoices, and weeks of manual work:

  • Automated 6,000+ vendor invoices over 16 months
  • Eliminated a total of 19 work weeks of manual invoicing effort
  • Saved 13 work weeks of bank reconciliation work

With better visibility into processes and fewer manual tasks, teams can work more efficiently and make better decisions.

“I can pull a report from Yardi every day and know that I have good numbers,” Pesek said.

“More hands in hands instead of hands on keyboards”

And the biggest benefit isn’t just operational.

“Our motto that we’ve adopted loosely is that we want to have more hands in hands instead of hands on keyboards,” Pesek said. “Our teams in the communities can actually spend more time with our residents and not have to worry so much about the back office needs.”
