Paul Stassforth

Meet Paul Stassforth, a senior account executive on the Yardi senior living sales team. For over 14 years, he’s witnessed the team’s growth and maintained a close-knit culture.

Paul works with enterprise clients of the Yardi Senior Living Suite in the U.S. These senior living providers have 3,000 or more units.

A close team

When Paul joined the Yardi sales team in Santa Barbara back in 2007, he was assigned to the senior living team. Since then, he’s seen the small team grow as the Senior Living Suite expanded. A smaller team meant more opportunity for working across large geographic areas. In 2009, he stepped into a sales role that covered all of North America. “It was much work and travel, but I learned a lot about the senior living industry and everything Yardi,” he said.

O, Canada!

Despite the time devoted to traveling, Paul cherished his experience north of the border. “Some of my fondest memories are the times I traveled to Canada to work with the Toronto team and all our clients in Canada. Even though I’m American, Canadians treated me like family, and I have a deep love for everything Canadian!”

He warmly recalls attending senior living conferences across the United States during his early days on the sales team. This is something he continues to do today. Paul is passionate about helping seniors live their lives with dignity, and he strives to help clients achieve those goals through enhanced technology.

There & back again

Paul left Yardi in 2015 but returned in 2018. “I’ve really enjoyed the sales team that Richard and JR assembled,” he said, appreciating the work of Richard Nix, senior director of senior living sales, and JR Southerland, director of senior living sales.

“Yardi has always encouraged employees to work together, and that’s part of the culture,” Paul said. “I feel very lucky that I was placed in senior living. Much has to do with the teams over the years. Although we’ve grown substantially, it still feels like an intimate team.”

Paul seamlessly connects his focus on senior living with local community events in Santa Barbara. He participates in an annual Alzheimer’s Walk sponsored by Yardi, and he represents Yardi at local senior expos.

“It’s been a great ride!”

When he’s not at work, Paul enjoys on- and off-road cycling, playing guitar and enjoying outdoor pursuits. His most adventurous bike ride was a 78-mile route circling Lake Tahoe in 2021.

Growing up in the Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles, Paul moved to Santa Barbara to attend the University of California, Santa Barbara, and never wanted to leave.

Being close to the ocean, hiking, kayaking and barbecuing are some of his favorite activities with his family.

“The best things I ever did were marrying my wife of 26 years, Kathy, and having our daughter Lacy and our son Alec,” Paul said. “It’s been a great ride!”
