Brightview’s success integrating eMAR data for med safety

Brightview Senior Living client success video

Brightview Senior Living faced a common challenge managing complex medication data across multiple systems. How can you ensure resident records are accurate when different communities use separate systems to enter electronic medication administration records (eMARs)?

In this video interview, Carol Downey, IT systems manager at Brightview, shares how connected technology helps Brightview streamline workflows with integrated pharmacy data and automated reporting.

With Yardi eMAR and Yardi Voyager Senior Housing, Downey describes how Brightview improved data visibility and operational efficiency to support frontline staff and provide better resident care.

“Once we implemented Yardi eMAR, we had zero med errors.”

Before using Yardi eMAR, several Brightview communities were using a completely separate system. “It wasn’t cloud-based,” she said. “So, it was really hard to reconcile the pharmacy orders with the resident profile in the Yardi database.

Downey describes three ways that Yardi eMAR streamlined the process, preventing the medication errors in resident profiles.

Yardi eMAR:

  • Integrates directly with the pharmacy
  • Eliminates the need for third-party systems
  • Updates each resident’s profile directly

Customization & support

Downey likes the flexibility to use Voyager Senior Housing to meet Brightview’s unique operational needs. “We have a lot of control over how we configure our system,” she said.

She also said Brightview benefits from support and collaboration with Yardi. “We have a lot of support from the Yardi side when we want to make something happen, but it’s not already built in.”
