Making applications easier for CARH scholarships

Yardi has created an online application solution for students to apply for financial support from the Council for Affordable and Rural Housing (CARH) Scholarship Foundation. In 2026, The Foundation offered eight scholarships, each valued at $2,000 per semester for up to four years.

Supporting students in affordable rural housing

The CARH Scholarship Foundation assists residents of CARH member affordable rural housing properties who are pursuing higher education. Scholarships cover undergraduate, graduate and vocational programs, and at least one award each year goes to a qualified vocational student and one to a graduate student, provided eligible applications are submitted.

The foundation supports a wide range of educational paths and personal circumstances with four application types including traditional, non-traditional, vocational and graduate school. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, provide proof of residency and meet the academic or program specific requirements tied to their category.

“The Foundation has been looking into digitizing the application process for the last couple of years. The process of converting was expensive and would have taken away money used for scholarships. Thanks to the generosity of Yardi, we were able to make the dream a reality,” said Rodney Corley, CARH Scholarship president.

A modernized and streamlined process

Before 2026, CARH applicants relied on a manual, paper-based process. This year marks the first time they can apply online. The online portal not only simplifies document submission for applicants but also improves internal review and processing for the Foundation’s selection committee.

“CARH has long been committed to expanding educational opportunities for residents of affordable rural housing and modernizing the application process strengthens that mission,” said Chuck Manly, vice president of PHA and affordable housing for Yardi. “We’re proud to support a program that impacts students across all stages of their educational journey from high school graduates to technical program students to those pursuing graduate degrees.”

Yardi’s contribution supports CARH’s mission to widen educational access for residents in affordable rural housing communities.
