Three Yardi Energy team members earned honors from the Assn. of Energy Engineers (AEE) for exceptional leadership, innovation and impact to the energy industry. AEE is an Atlanta-based nonprofit professional society that supports initiatives to save energy, reduce greenhouse gases, make buildings perform better and help reach global goals for net zero.
Jesse Oshiro, senior application engineer, was named Energy Engineer of the Year for the Western U.S. Region, and Veronica Hendricks, senior energy management analyst, received the Young Energy Professional of the Year award for the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast U.S. region. Christy Cannon, a solutions consultant, was inducted as an AEE Fellow.
Maximizing benefits from Yardi Energy
Oshiro’s accomplishments include helping several dozen clients comply with the Existing Buildings Energy and Water Efficiency Program, a Los Angeles city ordinance requiring building owners to benchmark and disclose their buildings’ energy and water usage. He helped other clients gain maximum benefits from their Yardi Energy platform by supporting implementation, training, consumption data analysis, billing and staff training.
Hendricks is instrumental in developing a new building performance standard dashboard that helps property managers track their compliance with federal, state and local environmental regulations. She also supported ENERGY STAR® certifications and trained other energy analysts in gathering and analyzing data.
Fellowship recognizes longtime service
Cannon’s longstanding AEE membership and distinguished 25-year career in energy management earned her designation as an AEE Fellow. Her contributions to the organization include serving on its advisory board. She lead Yardi’s 13-year tenure as an AEE Platinum Corporate Member and speaking at dozens of AEE events.
She also serves as the Mentorship Program Chair for the Council on Women in Energy and Environmental Leadership (CWEEL), an AEE division that supports the professional development of women working in energy and environmental fields.
As an energy consultant early in her career, Cannon took an active role in the 2002 deregulation of Texas’ electricity market, representing municipal interests for more than 120 cities in policy meetings with system operators and utility commission staff. Over the last 13 years at Yardi, she helped create new energy products, services and positions in both operations and sales. Currently focused on Yardi’s energy automation products, she draws on her cross-product expertise to help clients implement solutions that reduce utility usage and increase building performance as well as ESG scores.
These are the latest in a line of awards Yardi earned from AEE, including Energy Project of the Year in 2021 for performance optimization on the Metlife Building in New York City and the induction of Ray Segars, a Yardi energy solutions consultant, as an AEE Fellow inductee in 2020.
The Association of Energy Engineers recognized Oshiro, Hendricks and Cannon at the AEE World Energy Conference and Expo in Atlanta, where Yardi was a Platinum Sponsor. The Yardi Energy Suite helps promote a sustainable, renewable and affordable energy future. Contact us to learn more.
