Back by popular demand after a successful 2024 event, YASC Canada 2025 returned to The Westin Harbour Castle with even greater momentum. The energy was palpable as more than 1,100 real estate professionals gathered for the General Session, hosted by Peter Altobelli, vice president and general manager of Yardi. The session marked the start of Yardi’s fifth decade and the beginning of a new voyage powered by innovation, intelligence and insight.

Voyager 8 is here

Altobelli shared how Yardi has grown alongside the industry for more than 25 years, from early days of MS-DOS prompts to today’s immersive, data-driven dashboards.

“We grow with the industry,” said Altobelli. “Voyager 8 is built to connect every part of property management. It’s intuitive to learn and simple to enable. With new tools, features and built-in AI, upgrading isn’t just seamless, it’s an opportunity to prepare for what’s next.”

Peter noted that Yardi’s evolution mirrors that of its clients: expanding into new markets such as self storage, office occupier and coworking while remaining committed to the partnerships that built the company’s foundation. He also introduced the leadership guiding this next chapter, with Anant Yardi as chairman and Rob Teel as CEO, assuring clients that Yardi’s core values remain constant.

Then came one of the morning’s biggest announcements: to help Canadian businesses meet their evolving needs, YASC Canada will move to May 13–15, 2026.

“We are in the early adoption phase for Voyager 8, and 2026 might be the biggest year of technical advancement in Yardi’s 40-year history,” Altobelli shared. “It’s an exciting time. Voyager 8 has been tested and refined in the U.S. for more than two years, and it’s now ready for Canada. Take advantage of this moment, start planning your migration and be ready. Next year’s YASC will focus on Voyager 8 training, knowledge and the tools to bring back to your companies.”

A clear vision for the future

Stepping on stage, Teel reinforced that the journey ahead is guided by the same principles that have shaped the company since day one: service, integrity and innovation.

“The experience begins with Voyager 8, and the future is powered by the combination of AI and human intelligence,” Teel said. “Growth doesn’t just happen, it’s planned, orchestrated and guided by a shared vision of long-term value for clients, employees and communities.”

Teel noted that Yardi’s continued success comes from the trust built with clients and the shared commitment to progress. By listening closely to their needs, Yardi continues to develop solutions that evolve with the industry, adding more sophistication, enhancing the experience and creating technology that truly supports the people who use it every day.

AI built in & built out

Akshai Rao, president of Yardi, closed the session by unveiling how artificial intelligence is reshaping daily operations across Yardi platforms.

“AI isn’t about replacing people, it’s about understanding how to use it for guidance, from reporting to communication and beyond,” said Rao, president of Yardi. “Your workflows won’t change, they’ll simply happen with less manual effort and less human intervention.”

He outlined three major themes defining Yardi’s AI journey:

  • Native AI: Built directly into Yardi products, tools like Chat IQ, CRM IQ, Maintenance IQ, Smart Lease and Smart AP automate routine processes, enhance leasing and streamline rent payments.
  • Agents: The next evolution of Virtuoso Agents moves from “helping” to “doing,” enabling teams to offload manual tasks while staying in control of outcomes.
  • Connectors: The newest innovation, Connectors, allows users to link live Yardi data with AI assistants like Claude for deeper insights, real-time analysis and smarter decision-making.

“The Virtuoso paradigm is simple,” Rao added. “Agents do the work, humans handle the exceptions.”

A voyage worth joining

As Yardi embarks on its fifth decade, the message was clear: innovation will continue to drive meaningful change, but always with people at the heart of every advancement.

“The industry is evolving quickly,” Altobelli concluded. “Those here at YASC are already the early adopters, the ones setting the pace for the next ten years.”
