The benefits

Connect leasing, maintenance, accounting and revenue management in one platform. Gain the efficiency and visibility to grow your portfolio with confidence.

The company

HK Multifamily Management is a California-based owner and third-party property manager focused on larger multifamily assets. The company started on Yardi Genesis in 2014, expanded to Yardi Breeze Premier and ultimately moved to Yardi Voyager as its portfolio and operational complexity grew. Today, HK Multifamily runs a full Yardi platform across leasing, maintenance, revenue management and procurement.

The challenge

Managing growth without adding complexity

As HK Multifamily Management scaled across multiple markets, its manual approach to operations became a barrier. Leasing decisions required weekly meetings. Pricing adjustments were done by hand. Rent collection involved physical deposits, and maintenance relied on paper-based systems. Reporting was time consuming with no unified view across assets. The company needed a connected platform that could standardize operations, reduce manual work and support expansion into third-party management.

The solution

Yardi Multifamily Suite

HK Multifamily Management runs on a connected Yardi platform that spans the full property management lifecycle.

The operational backbone unifies property management and accounting in a single system. Leasing and prospect communication are centralized, while the make-ready process is digitized and unit turn performance is tracked in real time. Dynamic pricing adjusts automatically based on demand and vacancy, vendor payments and purchase order management are streamlined, and digital marketing efforts are supported across the portfolio.

Together, these connected solutions have replaced fragmented, manual workflows with an automated, performance-driven operating model.

The story

A shift to a smarter operating model

Before adopting the full Yardi platform, HK Multifamily Management operated like many traditional property management companies: Every process was hands-on and reactive. As the portfolio grew, it became clear that continuing manually would limit the company’s ability to scale.

Once the team built out their Yardi platform, the impact was immediate. “The level of automation and flexibility allowed us to operate consistently across multiple states while maintaining control and performance,” said Ajay Banga, CEO of HK Multifamily Management. “That’s when we fully committed to a technology-first approach.”

The transformation was comprehensive and impactful. The company saves significant time by replacing previously manual tasks with automation. Dynamic pricing now adjusts automatically based on demand and vacancy, rent collection, late fees and lease renewals run without manual intervention, and reporting is standardized and auto-generated across every asset.

A connected platform that supports new lines of business

The efficiency gains didn’t just improve daily operations, they created a foundation for growth. With consistent workflows and centralized data across every asset, HK Multifamily Management expanded into third-party property management. “We decided that Yardi’s system is so scalable, why not expand into third-party management?” Banga said.

The company is now scaling its third-party platform nationwide, targeting larger multifamily assets where its performance-focused approach can deliver measurable results for outside owners.

AI & automation improve the leasing experience

Leasing and resident communications have also changed significantly. AI-driven tools now handle a large share of inbound inquiries, giving prospects real-time information on availability, pricing and amenities.

Yardi CRM IQ centralizes all communication, giving teams full visibility into the leasing pipeline and freeing onsite staff to focus on closing leases and serving residents. Yardi Chat IQ follows prospects through the full leasing journey. It responds quickly, follows up consistently and helps guide applicants through the process.

The result is faster response times, lower lead drop-off and a more efficient pipeline from first contact to signed lease.
