Chicago-based senior living provider incorporates latest technology in newest senior housing development
SANTA BARBARA, Calif., October 30, 2017 – Chicago-based senior living provider Pathway to Living debuted Grandbrier, an independent living, assisted living and memory care community located in Prospect Heights, Illinois in May. Described as a “distinctive senior living community,” Grandbrier utilizes a range of cutting edge technologies to keep residents safe and connected.

In addition to a community-wide Wi-Fi network, the facility uses location-tracking technology to connect caregivers with patients via Spectralink phones linked to GPS-enabled pendants and motion detectors. A gym outfitted with HUR equipment allows seniors to create a safe and effective workout based on their personal health portfolio, which can be loaded onto the machine. “Strengthening muscles prevents falls, which means fewer trips to the hospital,” Reier told Senior Housing News.
