Agreement optimizes online listing data distribution, exposure and accuracy for Canadian Real Estate Association members and consumers
SAN DIEGO and OTTAWA, Ontario – May 31, 2012 –The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) has selected Point2 (www.point2.com) to power part of its national online data distribution facility, the two organizations announced today. The data distribution facility will optimize CREA member listing exposure to online buyers. It will also introduce new listing accuracy measures designed to maintain high levels of data consistency and integrity on key real estate consumer portals and search engines across Canada.
Under the agreement, Point2 will distribute up to 350,000 residential and commercial listings from participating brokers and agents to a number of third party websites as directed by those participating brokers and agents at least once every 24 hours.
CREA will offer the new service to its members as part of their membership benefits, at no added cost. The service is expected to launch later this summer.
All leads generated through the new data distribution facility will be delivered to the respective listing brokers and agents, at no charge.
