Yardi Supports MK Food Bank to Achieve Guinness World Record

Yardi UK took part in MK Can, hosted by MK Food Bank on October 16, to collect cans of food to support people in need. MK Food Bank organised this event to beat the Guinness World Record, set back in 2014, of 44,966 cans. Following an official attempt to form the longest line of cans, MK Food Bank achieved the Guinness World Record with over 102,400 cans!

MK Food Bank has supported the local community with emergency food parcels since 2004. Now supporting more than 5,000 families a year, MK Food Bank operates from its distribution centre in Kiln Farm, Milton Keynes and distributes from 10 serving centres across Milton Keynes.

Approximately 100 businesses, 20 schools, 30 churches and faith groups, 50 community organisations and 25 charities got involved, with an additional 11,000 cans funded by the general public. The event has provided more than half of the canned food that MK Food Bank needs for an entire year.

A huge thank you to the Yardi Milton Keynes and London Waterloo offices for supporting this event and donating 1,050 cans.
