County agency in California anticipates greater efficiency from converging property management, accounting, compliance, supplies procurement and mobile inspection on one platform
SANTA BARBARA, CALIF., Dec. 10, 2012– Yardi announced today that the Housing Authority of the County of San Bernardino (HACSB) in California has selected Yardi Voyager™ as its property management and accounting platform.
HACSB recently sought a new platform that could converge several operational and administrative systems, keep pace with portfolio growth, and accommodate new functionality such as mobility and online procurement.
“As good stewards of taxpayer dollars, our strategy is to simplify operations whenever possible and seek maximum efficiencies while continuing to provide excellent customer service,” said Steve Grimes, director of Information Technology for HACSB. “In our search for a suitable enterprise resource planning system, we evaluated many options and selected Voyager as our top choice. Voyager’s automation will eliminate manual processes and redundancies among five systems and increase productivity.”
Seeking similar automation-driven efficiency in procuring maintenance, repair and operating products, HACSB also adopted Yardi Procure to Pay™. Built in as part of Yardi Voyager, Yardi Procure to Pay integrates online supply catalogs and purchasing with Yardi PAYscan™, which converts paper invoices into electronic transactions and sends them through customizable approval workflows. “Our previous procurement system did not connect with our finance function,” Grimes said. “Procure to Pay will reduce manual tracking by automatically connecting invoices to the proper purchase orders and updating accounting data in real time.”
HACSB also adopted Yardi Inspection Mobile™, which offers inspectors in the field the convenience of entering inspection data into Yardi Voyager from smartphones or tablets. “We’re very excited about the ability to make building inspections, take pictures and record notes, then pull them directly into Voyager,” Grimes said. “This will be much more efficient than returning the device to the office and transferring the information into the system.”
