We’re delighted to introduce Shruti Jain, who has joined the Yardi team in our London office. Let’s get to know her better.
What’s your role and what do you focus on day‑to‑day?
I work as a Senior Account Executive at Yardi, where my focus is on driving new business and expanding Yardi’s presence within the commercial real estate industry. My role involves identifying and engaging new customers who could benefit from the Yardi platform, while also building and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
On a day-to-day basis, I focus on understanding my clients’ business challenges, helping them get the most value from the Yardi solution stack and identifying opportunities to expand or upgrade their use of the platform. A big part of my role is networking within the industry, learning about emerging needs in commercial real estate and positioning how Yardi can support operational efficiency and better decision-making.
How would you describe your job to someone outside the company?
In simple terms, I help real estate companies run their businesses more efficiently using technology. I work with property owners, asset managers and real estate operators to understand their operational challenges and then show them how software like Yardi can streamline everything from property management and accounting to asset performance and reporting.
Where were you working before joining us?
Before joining Yardi, I worked as an Account Director at CoStar Group, a market intelligence platform that provides commercial real estate data and analytics across the UK, US and Canada. My role involved working closely with professionals across the commercial real estate sector and helping them leverage market data to make better investment and strategic decisions.
What are you most excited to work on this year?
This year I’m particularly excited about deepening my understanding of ERP solutions in real estate and how they support the full operational workflow of a business. I’m also really interested in how Yardi is incorporating AI and advanced technology into its platform and how those innovations will shape the future of the commercial real estate industry.
What’s your go‑to productivity tip?
Leverage technology and AI tools as much as possible. The right tools can help automate routine tasks, organise information and free up time to focus on high-value activities like relationship building and strategic thinking.
What’s one thing people are often surprised to learn about you?
People are often surprised to learn that I can read tarot cards! It started as a fun hobby, but it’s something I’ve become quite good at over the years.
How do you like to start your day?
My day always starts with a cup of tea and a few quiet minutes planning the day ahead. I like to write down the key things I want to accomplish – it helps me stay focused, organised and in control of the day.
What do you enjoy most about working with your team?
I’m really enjoying working with such an experienced and knowledgeable group of people. Everyone brings different perspectives and expertise, which makes it a great environment to learn from each other and collaborate.
Favourite place to travel?
Right now, Greece is one of my favourite destinations.
Favourite TV show/film/podcast right now?
My all-time favourite TV show is Friends. No matter how many times I watch it, it never gets old.
What’s your ideal weekend?
My ideal weekend is a mix of relaxation and good experiences – one day to unwind, catch up on chores and recharge and the other day exploring great restaurants, brunch spots, or maybe a theatre show or movie.
One food you could eat every day?
Simple and comforting – Daal and rice. It’s my ultimate staple meal.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
“Be like a tree – stay patient and stay rooted.”
Just like a tree goes through different seasons, there are times in life that are challenging or slow, but if you stay grounded and patient, growth and new opportunities will eventually come. It’s advice I try to apply both personally and professionally.
What’s one professional achievement you’re proud of?
One professional achievement I’m proud of is successfully transitioning into a completely new market when I joined CoStar in the UK after moving from Dubai. I quickly learned the UK commercial real estate landscape and the different data environment. Within a short time, I adapted, performed strongly and met my sales targets, establishing myself within the sales team.
What do you think makes a great team culture?
A great team culture is built on trust, open communication and mutual respect. When people feel supported and aligned around a shared goal, collaboration and high performance naturally follow.
