YASC ANZ 2018: The Greatest YASC Yet!
Yardi welcomed over 300 clients to The Four Seasons Hotel, Sydney on the 29th – 30th August in what was, the largest Yardi Advanced Solutions Conference (YASC) event in the Australia and New Zealand region.
With over 50 educational sessions, an array of local and international experts providing their expertise in the Yardi ancillary suite of products, and new innovations reveled – Yardi clients enjoyed the great opportunity to relish their skills as well as network with industry peers.
Clients were able to enhance their YASC experience with the YASC 2018 mobile app where they were able to register for classes, download course materials and interact with other attendees and Yardi Staff. In addition to sessions lead by experts, attendees also gained hands-on experience in the on-site Computer Lab, which offered assistance with Yardi products, SQL scripting and reporting. The ever so popular YASC Scavenger Hunt also made it’s return, where attendees were able to snap and share their YASC 2018 experience through social and for the first time, instantly win a prize.
Kicking off YASC Day 1, Kevin Yardi, Vice President of Yardi Consulting Practices, kicked off the first morning’s Opening Session to a full room of clients and real estate experts. In a room filled with over 300 clients, Kevin Yardi welcomed clients with a 20-minute talk about the company’s development plans for the future. “Coworking, energy efficiency and build-to-rent are huge areas of focus for us. We’re looking to the future of our industry and making sure innovation powers everything we do,” he shared. Other new product revelations revealed to clients was the introduction of Yardi suite of Elevate products.
Following the conclusion of the Opening Session, clients proceeded to the start of the morning classroom sessions where they were able to hone in on their skills with the Yardi Voyager suite as well as learn more about the exciting new suite of Yardi Elevate applications. Integrated with Voyager, Yardi Elevate will provide asset management solutions designed to optimise performance around leasing, development, forecasting and facilities for office, industrial and retail real estate.
At the end of the morning classroom sessions, in the afternoon during the lunch break, clients gathered together in the Ballroom to join in on an exclusive presentation from Bryan Reid, Vice President at MSCI. Bryan Reid provided YASC attendees with his expertise and a market update on property performance across Australia and New Zealand, with key insights into the latest Q2 index results and the trends affecting commercial real estate.

Concluding the end of YASC Day 1, clients and Yardi staff came together for a night in Havana at Yardi’s Cuban themed cocktail party, held at Grain Bar inside the Four Seasons Hotel. With delicious canapes on the menu ranging from Peking duck pancakes, barbeque sliders and chocolate cigars – clients danced the night away to Cuban beats from a live DJ. Memories made and a night to be remembered, clients and staff joyfully enjoyed the night where a night of networking was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

On Day 2, class sessions continued throughout the day with stand out sessions from International Yardi experts Penny Bailey, Product Manager on Construction Manager, Jigar Shah, Vice President – Global Solutions on Yardi Elevate: Introduction and Neal Gemassmer , Vice President – International on Built to Rent and Co-working.
YASC 2018 ended with a Closing Session from Neal Gemassmer, Vice President – International thanking clients for another successful conference and the winners of the YASC Scavenger Hunt were announced with clients enjoying awesome prizes from an Amazon Echo, Dinner for 2 at The Four Season Hotel’s Mode Restaurant and many more.
As one attendee shared about their YASC experience in 2018, “Class sessions provided great information and YASC was a good training opportunity to expand the scope of work with Yardi in our business”.
