SANTA BARBARA, CA March 9, 2007 — Yardi Systems, the global leader in asset and property management software, is pleased to announce its inclusion as a participating software provider for the National Apartment Association Education Institute’s (NAAEI) University Partners’ program. The NAAEI University Partners’ initiative is an important component of the National Apartment Association’s efforts to develop education opportunities that will help the industry attract and retain top-quality professionals now and for the future. In this case, it is assisting undergraduate and graduate programs with developing the best-educated residential property management professionals to lead the industry into the future.

Through grants to Virginia Tech, Ball State University, University of North Texas, and the University of Georgia, NAAEI is supporting faculty in existing RPM programs and is leveraging its valuable supplier network to help provide professors with apartment industry resources to enrich the instruction of their programs.

Yardi has agreed to support the University Partners’ program by providing its browser-based asset and property management software, Voyagerโ„ข, for faculty to teach up-and-coming apartment professionals “best practices” in real estate management. “This is a great opportunity to assist the apartment industry,” comments Anant Yardi, founder and president of Yardi Systems. “We believe very strongly in education and are happy to support these programs by providing universities with the tools necessary to teach efficient and effective ways to manage real estate enterprises with ease,” he continues.

“Through the use of technology, new connections, and partnerships with workforce development sources, NAAEI is developing innovative professional development opportunities for the incumbent workforce and is actively marketing the industry’s career pathways to prospective and future apartment professionals”, said Stephanie Powers, NAAEI Executive Vice President. “Yardi is helping us accomplish this goal, and we are very grateful.”

While the parameters of the Software Vendors Co-operative initiative are being finalized, Yardi is one of the companies that has agreed to provide a “test run” of a match-up with NAAEI University Partner, Virginia Tech University, for a class in late March. In this class, a demonstration of industry software products will be given by Ms. Kimberly Mitchell, Assistant Professor, Apparel, Housing & Resource Management.
