Many first read about Ashish Dhamnekar in the July issue of the Yardi newsletter. Ashish teamed up with fellow Yardi employee Nilesh Shinde to help drought victims in the village of Ashathi. Their initiative began with an assessment tour, followed by volunteer and staff recruitment. At the project\u2019s culmination, the village received drinking water twice a day, each day, for nearly two months. Yardi\u2019s contributions totaled \u20b929,000 rupees; Ashish and his teammate visited the village each week to ensure that the villagers received the full benefit of the deliveries.<\/p>\n

When Ashish isn\u2019t exploring outreach options in his community, he works as part of Yardi\u2019s\u00a0 License and Build Team in Pune where he handles license cases and custom CPR builds.\u00a0 “It’s just me and Kunal Sonawane,” Ashish explains. “We assist each other to accomplish daily tasks. In his absence I have to manage the entire load and vice versa. We always try to maintain cheerful environment.”<\/p>\n

Even after six years with the company, Ashish feels a fresh sense of enthusiasm and dedication around the office, particularly when it comes to philanthropy. \u201cEmployees are really very enthusiastic and responsive by all means,\u201d says the young technician. \u201cYardi culture<\/a> is always supportive for social causes and general socio-awareness programs like blood donation camps, stress management workshops, sports activities and so on.\u201d In addition to Yardi’s emphasis on community, Ashish also appreciates the company’s efforts to foster growth. “The organization supports learning and development on the job and of course it rewards hard work too. I enjoy the work that I do!”<\/p>\n

In your free time, what are a few of your favorite activities?<\/b><\/p>\n

Frankly speaking, we hardly get free time at work. \u00a0On weekends, we spend quality time with friends and go for outing. I\u2019m a cricket lover, so I like to play and watch cricket matches. I also listen to music quite regularly.<\/p>\n

What is your favorite food and least favorite food?<\/b><\/p>\n

I\u2019m a foodie so I love to eat! My favorite vegetarian dishes are Spicy Paneer<\/a> and Malai Barfi.<\/a><\/p>\n

Non-vegetarian dishes would be Chicken Biryani.<\/a><\/p>\n

If you could be one historical figure, who would you be and why?<\/b><\/p>\n

I would be \u2018Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj\u2019<\/a>, the founder of Maratha empire. Since he is a warrior legend who re-established a \u2018Hindavi Swarajya\u2019 (self-rule of Hindu people). He created an independent Maratha kingdom and also emancipated our society and our \u2018Hindu dharma\u2019 when they were faced with the threat of total destruction.<\/p>\n

Where is your favorite place to escape for relaxation (could be local or abroad)?<\/b><\/p>\n

I get myself relaxed when I get close to the nature. So the place could be anywhere.<\/p>\n

If you could solve one of the world\u2019s biggest social issues, what would it be?<\/b><\/p>\n

Terrorism.<\/p>\n

If you were stranded on a deserted island, what are five things that you would want to have with you?<\/b><\/p>\n

  1. My cell, having all my songs and an everlasting battery<\/li>\n
  2. Infinite food and water supply<\/li>\n
  3. Tent<\/li>\n
