Here&#8217;s how they accelerate closes and manage a growing investor base without added headcount.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-shift-in-what-cfos-are-prioritizing-nbsp\">The shift in what CFOs are prioritizing&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A few years ago, the conversation with finance leaders was about which point solution did&nbsp;each&nbsp;job best. The accounting system, the investor&nbsp;portal&nbsp;and&nbsp;the debt tool&nbsp;were&nbsp;each&nbsp;selected on&nbsp;their&nbsp;own merits and stitched together afterward.&nbsp;CFOs are measuring something different now, and it has less to do with each system\u2019s individual capabilities and more to do with the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardi.com\/blog\/cost-of-reconciliation-investment-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reconciliation and manual work<\/a>&nbsp;that sits between them.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What&#8217;s&nbsp;changed is the volume of investor activity, the pace of reporting&nbsp;expectations&nbsp;and the cost of every manual touch between systems. The math that justified different specialized tools a decade ago&nbsp;doesn&#8217;t&nbsp;hold the same&nbsp;weight&nbsp;today.&nbsp;Here&nbsp;are the things that now sit at the top of the CFO\u2019s list.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-one-source-of-truth-not-four-versions-of-one-nbsp\">One source of truth, not four versions of one&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When the audit committee asks why two reports show different numbers,&nbsp;the question&nbsp;gets&nbsp;harder to answer&nbsp;if the data started&nbsp;in one system,&nbsp;passed&nbsp;through a&nbsp;spreadsheet&nbsp;and landed&nbsp;in another.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Matt Berlin, CFO at Paragon Real Estate Investments,\u00a0frames the structural version of this problem:\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Having investment accounting and general ledger operations under one roof, and being able to reallocate an investment entity to new entities automatically, is a huge element of our growth plans.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For&nbsp;Berlin, the&nbsp;priority&nbsp;isn\u2019t&nbsp;just automation.&nbsp;It\u2019s&nbsp;also&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardiinvestmentsuite.com\/client-spotlight-paragon-real-estate-fund-investment-accounting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">consolidating all financial operations<\/a>&nbsp;in a single system.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-a-nbsp-close-that-nbsp-doesn-t-nbsp-stretch-for-weeks-nbsp\">A&nbsp;close that&nbsp;doesn\u2019t&nbsp;stretch for weeks&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Quarter-end\u00a0shouldn\u2019t\u00a0be a survival exercise.\u00a0Too often,\u00a0the close\u00a0stretches days or weeks beyond\u00a0plan,\u00a0and the team\u00a0starts to look\u00a0drained.\u00a0When consolidations and allocations run against the same ledger that feeds investor reporting,\u00a0the team\u00a0reclaims that time.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8220;Closing our books used to be stressful with lots of overtime.
