Nature\u2019s love letters<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Maplewood Senior Living<\/a> shared a flower-arranging activity<\/a> from Maplewood at Darien, an event to encourage the power of creativity to enrich the lives of residents. Maplewood shared that arranging flowers \u201cnot only brought out their artistic flair but also fostered a sense of accomplishment and joy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Celebrating February as HEART month, Maplewood also shared about raising money for the HEART Foundation<\/a> and highlighted inspiring stories of love<\/a> in Maplewood communities. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cooking up memories and sweet treats<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Special food and cooking events are popular activities at many of our clients\u2019 communities.<\/p>\n

The Bristal Assisted Living<\/a> shared a gathering of the Foodie Club at The Bristal at Lake Grove<\/a> where residents made strawberry shortcake.<\/p>\n

Brandywine by Monarch<\/a> shared pictures from Princeton by Monarch, where the community warmed up a cold day by surprising residents who signed up for the \u201cmystery ride\u201d activity with a stop for hot chocolate and sweet treats<\/a>. The Turning Point restaurant served specialties like the s\u2019mores heavenly hot chocolate.<\/p>\n

Northbridge<\/a> shared an intergenerational cooking demonstration<\/a> at Stroudwater Lodge with students from Acton Academy in Kennebunkport, Maine.<\/p>\n

Merrill Gardens<\/a> shared a blog post about Bridges Bistro<\/a>, a special event where residents at the Murano Senior Living community served meals, in collaboration with the University of Washington\u2019s Memory Hub community center.<\/p>\n

\u201cBridges Bistro was more than a dining experience,\u201d wrote the Team at Merril Gardens. \u201cIt was a bridge between the dementia community and the wider world. By showcasing the strengths and resilience of individuals living with dementia, the event helped to break down the stigmas associated with that, and to foster a sense of belonging.\u201d<\/p>\n

For the love of art<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Residents at the Jackson Living Center enjoy art as part of a monthly series. Juliette Fowler Communities<\/a> shared photos from the art appreciation series at the Jackson Living Center<\/a>. Collaborating with the organization For Love & Art, the events promote interaction and wellbeing while exploring the world\u2019s great masterpieces.<\/p>\n

Carlton Senior Living<\/a> shared a trip to the Crocker Art Museum<\/a> where residents explored art across the centuries and cultures.<\/p>\n

Timeless love: Celebrating wedding anniversaries<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Celebrating 7 decades of love is an amazing milestone. Sonida Senior Living<\/a> shared an inspirational 70th<\/sup> wedding anniversary celebration, part of their Tree of Dreams program. Lee, a resident at The Waterford at Plymouth<\/a>, wished to share a special meal with his wife, Lily, to celebrate their seven decades together. Although not a resident, Lily is described as positive presence in the community, visiting almost daily.<\/p>\n

\u201cLily\u2019s frequent visits bring energy and warmth to every interaction, making her a cherished part of our daily activities,\u201d the community wrote on the blog post about the 70th<\/sup> anniversary celebration<\/a>. \u201cTheir anniversary celebration was a touching reminder of their strong bond and they expressed heartfelt gratitude for the thoughtful gesture. They felt truly blessed to have their love story honored in such a meaningful way.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a private dining room, the team served a special lunch with the couple\u2019s favorite dishes from cherished local restaurant, Antoinette\u2019s, including lasagna, salad and breadsticks, with a special Happy 70th<\/sup> anniversary cake with buttercream icing. Their son Rick also was able to join them.<\/p>\n

\u201cLee and Lily\u2019s unwavering devotion to one another has touched the hearts of everyone at The Waterford at Plymouth,\u00a0serving as a beacon of hope and inspiration for residents and staff alike,\u201d the team shared. \u201cThe joy they radiated during their special day was contagious, filling the room with laughter, love and gratitude.\u201d<\/p>\n
