After years of preparation and implementation processes, public housing agencies across the country are ready to change the way they complete many of their core processes.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yardi.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/04\/PHA-HOTMA-Blog-Post-19867.png?w=1200\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-35704\" width=\"300\" height=\"158\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.yardi.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/04\/PHA-HOTMA-Blog-Post-19867.png 1200w, https:\/\/www.yardi.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/04\/PHA-HOTMA-Blog-Post-19867.png?resize=768,403 768w, https:\/\/www.yardi.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/04\/PHA-HOTMA-Blog-Post-19867.png?w=400 400w, https:\/\/www.yardi.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/04\/PHA-HOTMA-Blog-Post-19867.png?w=500 500w, https:\/\/www.yardi.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/04\/PHA-HOTMA-Blog-Post-19867.png?w=600 600w, https:\/\/www.yardi.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/04\/PHA-HOTMA-Blog-Post-19867.png?w=720 720w, https:\/\/www.yardi.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/04\/PHA-HOTMA-Blog-Post-19867.png?w=800 800w, https:\/\/www.yardi.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/04\/PHA-HOTMA-Blog-Post-19867.png?w=1000 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Yardi is also ready for HOTMA with updates to our PHA Suite in development, as well as a plan to provide hands-on assistance to our clients as we work through HUD\u2019s new program mandates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabrielle Van Horn, director of client services for Yardi, recently led an online webinar for Yardi clients walking them through Yardi\u2019s HOTMA strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The webinar\u2019s agenda included an overview of HUD changes, notably:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Finalization of the Public Housing Over-Income Rule: Section 103 (PIH 2023-3)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Final Rule for Sections 102 and 104 HOTMA Implementation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Revisions to all 50058 forms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Housing Information Portal (HIP), which replaces IMS\/PIC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>National Standard for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Van Horn walked attendees through Yardi\u2019s plan to accommodate these upcoming changes. She also provided a timeline for all Yardi PHA clients who will need to upgrade their software this year, in order to remain compliant with the new HUD rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Important notes on preparation and training from Gabrielle\u2019s presentation included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Prepare your Board of Commissioners: ACOPs and Admin Plans must be adjusted. These are not optional changes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We recommend utilizing training from HUD, industry experts, and industry groups such as NAHRO and PHADA for regulatory guidance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An in-person training will be offered at the Yardi Advanced Solutions Conference in San Diego, September 6th \u2013 8th<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additional training will be available via online learning and documentation for those unable to attend the conference<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is an all-hands-on-deck process for the PHA client support team over the next few months. We\u2019ve got a plan to help all of our clients to get their software ready for new HUD requirements, and we are allocating resources from within to help make the process as smooth and timely as possible. We\u2019re committed to helping our clients through this process,\u201d said Gabrielle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a leading provider of PHA software and services, Yardi has access to contacts at HUD to seek clarification and provide feedback on how new rules can be accommodated.
