Lead with integrity. Without effective marketing of your corporate mission, vision and values, your recruiting process will fall flat. Your ideal hire will be compatible with these values and excited to embrace your corporate motto as their own. Look for an attitude and outlook that&#8217;s positive, proactive and productive. Training job-based skills will be no problem if you&#8217;ve found a strong personality match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Leverage your network<\/strong>. Referrals from current employees, social media, and mentors are great networking resources. \u201cIt\u2019s not the lack of resources, it\u2019s your lack of resourcefulness that stops you,\u201d says Tony Robbins, entrepreneur, and American best-selling author. Resourcefulness includes home grown networking, so encourage current employees and trusted industry colleagues to share your job postings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTurn your employees into recruiters by encouraging employee referrals. Alert them to open job requisitions, and motivate them to recruit talented friends with monetary and other incentives\u2014extra time off, prime parking spaces, free lunches, etc. One of the hidden benefits of hiring via employee referrals is that your employees probably know more about your corporate culture than external recruiters\u2014and more likely to recommend candidates that will end up being a good fit,\u201d shares <a href=\"https:\/\/venngage.com\/blog\/recruiting-tips\/\">Laurie McCabe, co-founder at SMB Group<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When recruiting new talent, take care to ensure that they vibe with your current staff. Teamwork has a direct effect on productivity and profitability. Teamwork makes the dream work!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Be sure to prioritize <strong>communication skills<\/strong>. Communication skills are more subtle&nbsp;than hard skills like technical knowledge,&nbsp;distinguishing average talent from rockstar talent. Passion and enthusiasm are hard traits to find. If a job candidate is keen and eager, they are more likely to work harder to get the job done. Your employees are your greatest asset, so make time to invest in them so they are better at their job which will bring your business growth.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Keep in mind your leadership skills and <strong>interviewing styles<\/strong>. A popular interviewing style is called the <strong>STAR method<\/strong>, which stands for Situation, Task, Action, and Result. The STAR method was invented by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ddiworld.com\/solutions\/behavioral-interviewing\/star-method#:~:text=DDI%20invented%20the%20STAR%20method,so%20others%20understand%20the%20context.\">Development Dimensions Inc (DDI)<\/a>, in 1974 to format accurate candidate data. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here&#8217;s how to use it: Ask the job candidate to briefly describe a <strong>situation<\/strong>, challenge, or event they faced. Have them explain the responsibilities they had in that situation (<strong>task<\/strong>). Next, have them describe how they overcame challenges (<strong>action<\/strong>). Ending with what they achieved in those actions (<strong>result<\/strong>). Each pillar has an in-depth yet short story with a beginning, middle and end. You will learn a lot about candidates with this method and that knowledge will help you make a great choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A business is only as strong as the psychology and skills of its leader which is why <strong>leadership skills<\/strong> are so important. Understanding yourself and your company more fully can build a team and boost your company to the top. Create a culture of strategic originality where creativity and problem-solving can succeed.
