About 450 local governments, universities, organizations, corporations and utilities are hosting an array of activities including expos, energy-saving device installations, free energy assessments and symposia with thought leaders.<\/p>\n<p>Organizers of Energy Efficiency Day, an annual occurrence since 2016, encourage people to stage their own events, such as a \u201ctreasure hunt\u201d check of home appliance, lighting and insulation efficiency, and to share their experiences from the day (#EEDay2019).<\/p>\n<p>Technologies that lower energy bills and make properties more comfortable are part of Energy Efficiency Day\u2019s focus\u2014and have long been a staple of Yardi\u2019s business. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardi.com\/products\/smart-energy-suite\/\">Yardi Pulse Suite<\/a>, an integrated set of software solutions, supports sustainability efforts by maximizing efficiency across all property types.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOctober 2 is Energy Efficiency Day. But efficiency is year-round,\u201d says the event\u2019s website, which pretty well summarizes Yardi\u2019s approach as well. Every month last year, for example, the company benchmarked more than 1,700 buildings across 47 client portfolios in 27 compliance jurisdictions in ENERGY STAR<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Portfolio Manager<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>. A grant to the BOMA Water and Waste Challenge helped property owners and managers improve their water and waste management practices. Ongoing leadership, innovation and commitment to environmental protection earned Yardi designation as an ENERGY STAR <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardi.com\/news\/yardi-epa-energy-star-partner-of-the-year\/\">Partner of the Year<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The company joined GRESB\u2019s Global Partner program this year as a sustainability consultant and solution provider. Yardi promotes energy management best practices at events such as Realcomm\/IBcon, NAA Apartmentalize, BOMA International Conference &amp; Expo and PM Expo, and in executive briefings, webinars and Yardi Advanced Solutions Conferences. Frequent articles in industry publications and Yardi\u2019s corporate blog further promote the company\u2019s thought leadership.<\/p>\n<p>Yardi recently provided a grant to the Energy Institute at the University of Austin, Texas, for research into reducing greenhouse gas emissions from the built real estate environment.<\/p>\n<p>Energy Efficiency Day cites experts\u2019 projections that efficiency could provide one-third of total expected electricity generation needs by 2030.
