At Yardi, community outreach is built into the fibers of daily operations. Yardi corporate empowers local offices to award grants to nonprofits within their communities. Each office receives a sum that can be shared between local charitable organizations.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Process<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Scottsdale, the Yardi office organized a committee composed of volunteer employees. Each participant nominated up to two nonprofits. The nominations were accompanied by a presentation on the nonprofit including its mission and community impact.<\/p>\n

With presentations complete, the committee then voted to select six nonprofits that fit the criteria of Yardi corporate.<\/p>\n

The Recipients<\/strong><\/p>\n

The following nonprofits received the committee\u2019s final approval. Committee members hosted a small ceremony in which representatives from each organization could visit the office, speak on behalf of their nonprofit, receive the donation and share how the contribution would be used to uplift the community.<\/p>\n

Comfort Food Pantry<\/a> is an affiliate of Feeding America, a program dedicated to delivering food and necessities to families in the East Valley. The organization offers non-judgmental assistance to those in need in an effort to strengthen the community.<\/p>\n

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention<\/a> raises awareness and provides resources and aid to those affected by suicide.\u00a0The organization funds research to improve interventions, educate clinicians in suicide prevention, and advocate for policy that will save lives.<\/p>\n

Save the Family<\/a> helps families overcome homelessness through housing assistance, education and employment opportunities, caseworker support, and other life-enhancement programs<\/p>\n

Tempe Community Action Agency<\/a> provides education, stability, and advocacy to working poor families, seniors and the homeless. The organization\u2019s outreach programs benefit 43,000 people.<\/p>\n

Days for Girls: Love Girls, Period<\/a> serves more than 1 million women and girls worldwide. The nonprofit provides washable\u00a0menstrual hygiene solutions, health education, and social enterprises to females in need.<\/p>\n

Homeward Bound<\/a> creates pathways out of poverty in Maricopa County. Participants receive assistance with housing, case management, support services, and emergency meals.<\/p>\n

The Good Work Continues<\/strong><\/p>\n

Not all great causes arise in time for deadlines. After the Scottsdale philanthropic committee selected six recipients, another worthy foundation made a heartfelt appearance in the office.<\/p>\n

Word circulated that a local employee enrolled in the San Diego Susan G. Komen 3-day Walk<\/a>. As a cancer survivor, the employee is a passionate supporter of the Susan G Komen foundation.<\/p>\n

Once fellow Yardi employees discovered their teammates mission, the committee offered to match employee donations up to $500. Yardi Scottsdale rose to the occasion, surprising their Yardi team member with a $1,000 donation. The contributions helped her to exceed her initial fundraising goal in time for the event.<\/p>\n
