{"id":13383,"date":"2015-06-19T05:00:15","date_gmt":"2015-06-19T12:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.yardi.com\/blog\/?p=13383"},"modified":"2021-02-03T16:05:27","modified_gmt":"2021-02-04T00:05:27","slug":"2015-digie-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yardi.com\/blog\/2015-digie-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"2015 Digie Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two <a title=\"Yardi\" href=\"http:\/\/www.yardi.com\/markets-we-serve\/commercial-property-market\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yardi <\/a>commercial real estate clients were recognized this month with prestig<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-13386\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yardi.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2015\/06\/Realcomm-300x163.jpg\" alt=\"Realcomm\" width=\"300\" height=\"163\" \/>ious Digie Award honors from the technology-focused conference and networking event <a title=\"Realcomm\" href=\"http:\/\/www.realcomm.com\/advisory\/advisory.asp?AdvisoryID=696\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Realcomm<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Deutsche Bank Wealth &amp; Asset Management was recognized for \u201cBest Use of Automation in Real Estate Investment Management\u201d and Stuart Appley of Shorenstein received a \u201cDigital Impact Award\u201d for his contributions as an industry visionary.<\/p>\n<p>According to Realcomm\u2019s website, the Digie Awards (the name stands for \u201cCommercial Real Estate Digital Innovation Awards\u2019\u201d) were created to single out \u201ccompanies, real estate projects, technologies and people that have gone above and beyond to positively impact our industry through the use of technology, automation and innovation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yardi is a recipient of numerous past Digie Awards for the innovation contained within its technology products, and this year the company\u2019s energy efficiency monitoring platform, LOBOS, was a nominee. You can hear Yardi Senior Vice President of Global Solutions, Rob Teel, talk about the product\u2019s role in the commercial technology platform <a title=\"Rob Teel at Realcomm\" href=\"http:\/\/livestream.com\/wab\/realcomm2015\/videos\/89831243\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in this video<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stuart Appley &#8211; Shorenstein<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Appley has been with Shorenstein since 2007 and serves as the company\u2019s CIO. A self-described \u201ccloud evangelist,\u201d with a technology focused <a title=\"Stuart Appley Twitter\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/sappley\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter account<\/a>, he has been responsible for pushing Shorenstein\u2019s technology platforms into the realm of today\u2019s best practices. The company chose Yardi to <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-13384\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yardi.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2015\/06\/Stuart-245x300.jpg\" alt=\"Stuart\" width=\"194\" height=\"238\" \/>be its technology provider several years ago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was time to automate a lot of different parts of the business, and Yardi\u2019s system was the only one that has the breadth to allow us to do that,\u201d Appley noted.<\/p>\n<p>Realcomm recognized Appley as \u201can industry visionary and early adopter of an \u2018all in\u2019 cloud strategy for the business of commercial real estate,\u201d who \u201celevated IT from a tactical to strategic role pursuing a business transformation through technology.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cReal estate, traditionally, never spent any money on technology,\u201d Appley told us in a past interview. \u201cBut people have started to understand that we need to understand the portfolio better, and their push is for something that\u2019s easy to use.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Appley responded to the award on his Twitter account, where he gave credit for the honor to his Shorenstein team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Deutsche Bank Wealth &amp; Asset Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yardi client Deutsche Bank Wealth &amp; Asset Management was awarded a Digie for use of automation to handle investment management.<\/p>\n<p>The award recognizes Deutsche Bank for its use of technology to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Aggregate data from multiple sources into a fully converged enterprise-wide property information system<\/li>\n<li>Centralize disparate document repositories into a single platform<\/li>\n<li>An outstanding example of a world class, global ERP implementation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Deutsche Bank has been a Yardi client since 1986. Recently, the company undertook a major effort to combine six disparate databases, each essential to its business, into a single system. The platform incorporates property management and accounting, investment management, document management and business intelligence.
