Technical analyst turned Q&A specialist, Edith Pojum is a dedicated member of Yardi\u2019s CSD team in Cluj and a freelance illustrator whose playful e-cards<\/a> are slowly paving her way towards taking over the world, one heart flutter at a time. Even thoug\"edith2\"h that\u2019s not the way she\u2019d go about world domination: \u201cI\u2019d start by helping people in need, because I have huge empathy for those who are abused, or homeless, or somehow disenfranchised.\u201d<\/p>\n

A member of the Yardi Cluj family since November 2011, Edith Pojum previously worked as a technical analyst but switched to a Q&A specialist position three months ago. She spends her workdays testing the system, creating system enhancement and trouble requests and checking if previously reported bugs and errors have been resolved.<\/p>\n

A graduate of the University of Babe\u015f-Bolyai\u2019s Faculty of Economic Sciences and Business Administration, her college studies come in handy in her day-to-day tasks, as many of Yardi Voyager\u2019s<\/a> functionalities have an accounting and finance base.<\/p>\n

Edith enjoys all that her job implies, but her favorite part of working at Yardi is the atmosphere and her colleagues. Catching up with the Milton Keynes and Yardi Amsterdam office colleagues was her favorite part of the recent European CSD Conference. The conference took place in Cluj on June 11 and 12 and was attended by more than 60 Yardi staff members from Milton Keynes, Amsterdam and Cluj.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s always nice to meet our colleagues from other offices, we work with them on an almost daily basis.\u201d Learning more about Voyager functionalities such as Orion Business Intelligence, Rent Caf\u00e9\/Residential, Advanced Budgeting, Commercial Leasing Pad, Payscan App, etc. also proved exciting to the dedicated Q&A specialist.<\/p>\n

When Edith leaves the office however, is when her true passion surfaces: drawing and illustrating. Her current project, aptly dubbed Cutie Cards<\/a>, was born out of a life-long passion for drawing and a deep love for children\u2019s books. Edith taught herself computer graphics, and now combines the best of both hand and digital drawing. A few years ago she participated in a local greeting cards competition, and the medium stuck with her.<\/p>\n

Nowadays, she takes on illustration projects and draws greeting cards born out of spontaneous inspiration or made-to-order for those looking to say something lovely in a truly unique way. Some local stores have started carrying her drawn piece of happiness. In fact, some businesses love her work so much, that they requested exclusive designs, such as a local gourmet candy shop, which ordered a special collection.<\/p>\n

Edith also recently launched a line of tote bags featuring her artwork. She is also the sole illustrator of a children\u2019s poems and nursery rhymes collection, set to be published in the near future by the Hungarian Literary Radio. \u201cWhen I grow up,\u201d Edith says, \u201cI\u2019d love to do what I\u2019ve already started: draw, illustrate.\u201d<\/p>\n

What other hobbies do you have?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I love hiking and traveling, especially if it\u2019s somewhere in the mountains and I\u2019d like to revisit London, too. A dream destination for me would be South Africa. I\u2019d love to see the wildlife, experience the multifaceted culture, especially tribal cultures.<\/p>\n

What was your favorite school subject?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I really liked chemistry.<\/p>\n

What is your favorite food and cuisine?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I like Chinese and I really like McDonald\u2019s fries, but I eat almost anything, except meat \u2013 I seldom eat that, I tend to prefer fruits and veggies.<\/p>\n

If you could choose anybody, alive or dead, real or fictional, who would you invite over for dinner?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Salvador Dali, and I\u2019d cook him something eccentric, something Hungarian. Paprikash<\/a>!<\/p>\n

What music do you like?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I like more kinds of music, the list goes on forever. But that doesn\u2019t mean I\u2019ll listen to anything, it just depends on the mood. Lately I\u2019ve been listening to Angus and Julia Stone and Portugal, the man. But the list goes on forever<\/p>\n

Favorite movie and TV show?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t really watch TV, but I enjoy documentaries, especially those related to criminal psychology. It\u2019s hard to choose one movie, there are so many great ones. Pulp Fiction is a favorite and from what I\u2019ve seen lately: Good Vibration. I also love animated movies and anything Tim Burton.<\/p>\n

Who are your most beloved authors?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I enjoy Milan Kundera, Daniel Keyes, children\u2019s books and non-fiction literature, such as Made to Stick by Chip and Dan Heath.\u00a0 Right now I\u2019m reading Bukowski.<\/p>\n

What other languages do you speak?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hungarian and Romanian.<\/p>\n
