{"id":13282,"date":"2022-07-14T17:04:34","date_gmt":"2022-07-14T17:04:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yardi.co.uk\/?p=13282"},"modified":"2026-03-06T17:47:51","modified_gmt":"2026-03-06T17:47:51","slug":"digitising-investment-management-processes-for-smarter-decision-making","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yardi.com\/blog\/en-gb\/digitising-investment-management-processes-for-smarter-decision-making\/","title":{"rendered":"Digitising investment management processes for smarter decision-making"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"is-style-intro\">The topic \u2018Digitising investment management processes for smarter decision making\u2019 made for an interesting discussion at the Invest Tribe at Space UK\u2019s London BWT event on Wednesday 29 June.<\/p>\n<p>Fay Chester, international solutions consulting regional director for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardi.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Yardi<\/a>, hosted the discussion along with co-hosts, Rachel McIssac, managing director at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aewuk.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AEW Investment Management LLP<\/a> and Jonathan Avery, head of platform technology and change at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lgim.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LGIM<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><\/div>\n<p>With extensive experience in implementing digital investment management processes for their respective businesses, they were joined by a diverse group of event attendees that led to a lively discussion.<\/p>\n<p>McIssac started by outlining that AEW is driven by providing returns for investors to pay for their pensions so having systems in place to communicate efficiently was critical to keeping them engaged and ultimately happy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInvestors need accurate and timely data. Digitalisation gives speed for REIT reporting and helps us stay ahead of our competitors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Avery explained how he had played a crucial role in replacing the many tech systems at Savills before joining LGIM to focus on replacing investment systems to deliver a different operating model. He expanded that by giving people tools to help do their jobs better provides better governance for the business.<\/p>\n<p>Both co-hosts stressed the importance of delivering quality data for asset managers so they can be thinkers rather than information gathers.
