They also want easier access to it,\u201d Barbier says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the reason people invest in real estate \u2013 to make a return \u2013 remains unchanged, the investment process itself is evolving rapidly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cInvestor priorities remain constant: optimised returns, timely capital allocations, consistent communication across the investment lifecycle, and accurate determination of distributions. What\u2019s changing is how those priorities are being met.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Barbier says elevated investor expectations parallel advances in technology as \u201cpaper reports, back-and-forth emails and spreadsheets are superseded by the online and remote convenience that real estate investors experience in other aspects of their daily lives\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investors keep a watchful eye on value and income production \u2013 far more than they did in previous eras, Barbier suggests. \u201cThe scope of reporting, once confined to financial performance, is expanding as investors realise that property operations affect cash flow and ultimately asset value,\u201d Barbier says. \u201cToday\u2019s investors want not only the results but what\u2019s driving them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This new era of investment is propelling the uptake of technology platforms that offer \u201cfull visibility\u201d across a portfolio of assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA single connected investment management platform is the technology of choice for many real estate investment managers because it creates one \u2018source of truth\u2019 for real estate asset operational and financial data.
