Submetering enables owners and managers to accurately measure individual utility consumption, billing residents for their actual usage. Once the meters have read the resident consumption, the data is sent to the Voyager payables screen.

Once the invoice is received, it moves through the appropriate accounting procedures and workflows for approval and payment. Resident costs are then split up based upon the consumption data fed into the system from either the submeters, or by any number of user-defined formulas — known as Ratio Utility Billing System (RUBS).

Owners and managers can create monthly statements that combine resident utility charges with rent. This convergent billing method facilitates improved collection rates of utility charges. And improved collection rates translate to more timely bank deposits.
