SANTA BARBARA, CA, June 30, 2005 — Yardi Systems, the industry leader in software solutions for the real estate industry, won the 2005 “Digie Award” in the category of Most Innovative Technology (subcategory Building Automation Technology). Yardi won the award in conjunction with Gridlogix, a leading provider of interoperable Web services technology.

The award demonstrates the importance of product and service integration in the commercial real estate industry, as more providers are collaborating to better serve their customers. Using Gridlogix real-time communication links between control system energy meters and Yardi’s Voyager asset and property management software, customers can create a “utility-style” automated meter-reading system that transfers data to Yardi’s property management application to enable automatic billing and facilitate Enterprise Energy Management.

The Gridlogix system automatically captures utility meter readings from a control network and stores the data in standard XML format for use by Voyager. The immediate benefit to the customer is timely, accurate energy-consumption information that is quickly integrated with existing tenant records and billing information. Long-term benefits result from more accurate tenant billing and improved tenant relations through assistance with energy management initiatives based on real-time energy-use information.

The Seventh Annual “Digie” Awards held at Realcomm 2005 in Anaheim (June 27-28) recognized some of the most innovative individuals and organizations in the industry. These awards are designed to give credit to those who have worked to transform the commercial real estate industry into a digital model. Digie Award winners are recognized as leaders in the industry whose early visions place them far ahead of their contemporaries. In regard to the Building Automation Technology Award, Realcomm states “The Commercial Real Estate Technology sector over the last couple of years has grown to new heights and is beginning to understand what technology can mean to an inefficient industry. This category focuses on those technologies that will dramatically change the way we live, work and play and, ultimately, the way we use space.”

The mission of the Realcomm Conference is to provide a single place where industry leaders can come together to discuss, analyze and debate the latest innovations that are having an impact on the commercial real estate industry.
