Automation of accounts payable and common area maintenance reconciliations saves time and paper

SANTA BARBARA, CALIF., Jan. 7, 2016 – The Heritage Group Inc., a real estate management and investment advisory firm, has launched Yardi Voyager® 7S, a property management and accounting platform, to accommodate its growing portfolio and improve client service.

Heritage has nearly doubled in size from seven to 13 professionals and added over one million square feet in new leasing and management assignments. Heritage also added brokerage professionals who brought numerous listings to the firm.

“We attribute the growth to an increase in transactional business both on the leasing and investment side,” said Mark Hoekstra, managing director at The Heritage Group.

Heritage has acquired four properties this year on behalf of clients and its own account, with three more in the pipeline that will close before year end.

“Our portfolio is growing fast, and our goal is to save our people from being overwhelmed with handling invoices,” said Breanna Walulik, senior accountant for Heritage. “As a mobile platform, Voyager lets us take care of all property management operations in the field as well as in the office.”

Yardi Voyager is a browser-independent, mobile-enabled platform that will automate the accounts payable process that Heritage currently performs manually. Yardi Voyager will also ease Heritage’s common area maintenance (CAM) reconciliation process.

“We use a high-tech, high-touch approach to ensure efficient and quality performance for our clients,” Walulik said. “Voyager will complement our current strategies and save staff time by automating calculations.”

Yardi Voyager will also automate the compilation and distribution of electronic financial reports to Heritage’s property owners, complete with attachments, further reducing Heritage’s paper burden.
