Residential property owner, builder and manager Investco Financial Corporation recently automated its utility billing collection by adopting Yardi EBS
SANTA BARBARA, CALIF., Nov. 30, 2010 – Residential property owner, builder and manager Investco Financial Corporation recently automated its utility billing collection by adopting Yardi EBS Utility Billing™. The company has also implemented new online marketing and resident services with Yardi Portal™ and applicant screening with Yardi Resident Screening™.
Prior to 2010, Investco engaged another company to measure utility consumption and allocate, bill and collect payments. Investco sought more efficient utility management by integrating automated billing and collection with its core property management platform.
“Yardi EBS Utility Billing’s convergence with our Yardi Voyager™ property management and accounting platform streamlines our business. There are no interfaces with a third-party system,” said Missy Castaneda, regional manager for Investco. “Performing the entire utility allocation and billing process within Voyager saves our property managers up to 150 hours of labor per month. By automating the collection of move-out charges, we also ensure that departing residents make their final payments.”
Investco also adopted Yardi Portal, whose dynamic link with Yardi Voyager lets Investco’s prospects see real-time unit availability. Furthermore, Yardi Portal gives residents numerous online self-service capabilities. “Portal helps us reach a nationwide pool of prospects and helps them find living space before they move to the Seattle area. And our residents can enter service requests, renew their leases or make credit card rent payments from home,” Castaneda said.
Investco conducts credit, criminal, rental history and employment verification screening with Yardi Resident Screening. “Doing our screening within Voyager, without needing a separate system, speeds up our approval process. The result is more thorough background checks and less risk in selecting residents,” Castaneda said.
